How I got into UX Design

It was love at first sight. After taking a C++ course at Penn State I realized that I had a technical aptitude (I was frightened to take the course though!). That class was a spring-board, launching me into some pro-bono projects that required me to learn how to navigate my way around HTML and CSS. Coding is all fun and games....but I love the visual side of things. As I started to take on more projects — including paying ones, I fell head-over-heels for UX process as well as tools like InVision, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Cloud. Check out some of my doodles on Bēhance or Dribbble.

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships

I'm a firm believer that success is accomplished together. My projects have given me the chance to work with many people with all kinds of skills and talents. I am an excellent communicator and I love to give and receive feedback.

I grew up most of my life in Anchorage, Alaska. From there I moved to Nashville, Tennessee to study at Belmont University. I then moved to Spokane, Washington and a few years later moved to Seattle, Washington. I have also lived in North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, and Arkansas. I love to travel and am planning my next trip to Mykonos, Greece.

Fun Facts

I am very laid back. Meaning I enjoy an evocative book, podcast, or guided meditation. I also am the proud parent of a fluffy Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Lilo (yes, as in Lilo and Stich).
